public works got to know Peter Mutschler from PS2 in Belfast during the Rhyzom network, and Peter works a lot
with Anne Marie Dillon form the village of Ballykinler. From the
first meeting we had the idea to get involved in making a village
product in Ballykinlar, with Anne Marie and her great group of
Forever Young pensioners. Visits and
workshops followed, and we're proudly announcing the making of
a model, which will lead us to the Caravan Pot. In admiration of
the mobile community centre, that Anne Marie put down in the
village, using a redecorated caravan. Why? To get the community
space they wanted but couldn't get through administrative
means.
The white glazed caravan pot will be decorated, tatooed and made
pretty by anyone from Ballykinler, and will be on offer during the
village fete on Saturday 28th May 2011.
This is also all part of the
International Village Shop and the wider Village Works programme for
the village.
