Born 1973, educated in Britain and Iran.
Obtained her professional Diploma at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. Obtained her architecture degree at Duncan Jordstone College of art - Dundee.
Torange Khonsari has been a senior lecturer in architecture at London metropolitan university since 2000. From 2004 - 2007 she was a course leader for BA architecture at London metropolitan university.
Torange Khonsari has lectured at conferences internationally, has been key note speaker for UN Habitat conferences and has run numerous workshops internationally.
Torange is currently a director of public works, and a visiting lecturer in UMA school of architecture in Umeå, Sweden where she teaches architecture and activism. The direct two-way communication between academia and practice has enabled and enriched an exploratory environment within which public works is now operating. Published work include ‘public works enjoying the in between’ Planning the unplanned, 2015 and ‘Contemporary initiative in participatory art and architecture practice’, Open house international journal, 2007.
She is one fo the original co-founder of the art and architecture practice public works in 2004.
