As part of its organisational development work Gasworks Gallery
invited public works to research and assess its local role and
The project started by opening up an informal meeting and studio
space right on the public threshold of Gasworks Gallery: the front
door. For a period of two months this became the public space for
the project. The façade was used as a changing billboard to
advertise activities, the latest ideas and questions.
Through a mix of observation and live discussion, we proposed
solutions to connect and extend Gasworks. We created a catalogue of
proposals outlining strategies for the development of the
organization in the short, medium and long-term. The proposals
address ways of increasing cooperation with other local
organisations, as well as drafting solutions for the architectural
redevelopment of the building.
