As part of Rhyzom, a pan-European
research project, public works together with Somewhere and Friends of Abbey
Gardens organized a two-day product design workshop at
Abbey Gardens in 2010.
The idea for the workshop was to brainstorm and develop new objects
or goods that derive from the context of Abbey Gardens as an urban
food growing site, to use local resources and help capture specific
The outcome was a series of ad-hoc prototypes, one of them a tool
to compress 'stuff' (soil, herbs, flowers, etc.) and use it to
generate a number of different products.
