What happens when nothing happens

What happens when nothing happens

Following French novelist and filmmaker George Perec's 1974 exercise "An attempt at exhausting a place in Paris", Rakan Budeiri has spent five days in Flat Iron Square noting the passing of humdrum activity which is normally written off as "nothing happening". During this time passersby became participants in taking a brief moment to jot down their own observation and reactions of life in the square.

A portrait of Flat Iron Square has emerged which celebrates the mundane and the unexpected at the same time. The handwritten results of the exercise is displayed in this fanzine.
